Residential Fire Compliance Inspections

A Certificate of Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Compliance (CSDCMAC) is required as per N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.3 for residential dwellings at time of resale, change of tenancy, or change of occupancy. Applications are processed online only, use the Residential Inspection tab, this will redirect you to the application. 

PLEASE NOTE:    A Letter of No Interest certifying there are no open permits for the property must be obtained from Hazlet Township Construction Department                                    prior to approval of the Fire Compliance Inspection. The request for this letter can be completed on the township SDL Portal.

  • A Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Detector & Fire Extinguisher Certification is required for any change of occupancy or ownership.
  • A Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Detector & Fire Extinguisher Certification is required for any change of tenancy.
  • Applications are applied for through the our website, use the "residential inspection" tab.
  • The fee will be paid during the application process, the fee is $75.00 for the inspection, re-inspection fee is $25.00
  • An inspection date may be requested after payment, approval of the inspection will be pending until final review of the applications by the Bureau of Fire Prevention
  • Applications can be found an the Residential Inspection tab.
